2019 St Hilda's College Crime Fiction Weekend
Gamechangers: writers who have transformed the genre
Ours is a weekend with a difference. Launched in 1994, it offers the audience the unique experience of hearing their favourite authors exploring a theme. This develops into a weekend-long dialogue between speakers and audience that often leads to surprising results.
All this plus riverside drinks receptions, the PD James Conference Dinner with a specially written celebrity "whodunnit" featuring a cast of your favourite authors, a massive Blackwells shop open on site every day, author signing sessions, some prizes and a brimming goodie bag.
Beginning on Friday evening with a dinner and drinks reception, the conference will feature a weekend of talks, discussions and author signings, finishing up with a traditional farewell lunch on Sunday.
Our speakers and their subjects include:
Lin Anderson (Forensic science)
Graeme Macrae Burnet (Georges Simenon)
Prof Niamh Nic Daeid (Forensics expert)
Will Dean (Scandi Noir)
Mary Paulson-Ellis (Kate Atkinson)
Nicci French (suspense thrillers)
Mick Herron (Reginald Hill)
Sarah Hilary (Patricia Highsmith)
Val McDermid (After Dinner Speaker)
Andrew Taylor (Josephine Tey)
Nicholas Utechin (Sherlock Holmes)
