St Hilda’s College wishes to appoint a Junior Dean (to serve alongside two other Junior Deans) starting on 1 October 2020 for the academic year 2020-21. There may be the possibility of renewal for a further year thereafter.

The successful candidate will support the Dean in both her welfare and disciplinary roles within the College. The role requires an individual who enjoys working with young people, is well organised and works well in a team, as well as independently. The successful candidate must be approachable, open minded and a good listener.

The College would especially welcome applications from those who have some prior experience as a Junior Dean, Assistant Junior Dean, or a similar role.

It is expected that applicants will be pursuing advanced study or research. This post is not suitable for those studying for a one-year taught postgraduate course or for the BMBCh. Hours worked will not be more than 20 hours each week.

Junior Deans are required to reside in college accommodation (single occupancy), free of charge, and will be entitled to free meals at high table, when the kitchens are open, and an honorarium of £3,000 per annum. If the successful applicant is at another College, they will be required to migrate to St Hilda’s College.

The deadline for applications is 5.00pm on 10 July 2020.

To apply, please send a full curriculum vitae and letter outlining your suitability for the post, together with details of any relevant experience, to recruitment@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk. Please also ask two referees to send a letter of reference to the same address by the closing date of 10 July 2020.
