Student Ambassadors welcome prospective students to St Hilda's

Access and Outreach

Excellence and equality of opportunity are central to the College’s mission. Our 125th Anniversary Campaign will further support our innovative Schools Programme which works with teachers to encourage applications from schools that lack a tradition of sending high-achieving students to Oxbridge. Our approach to outreach, working with schools, has been recognised across the University as a step-change from the more traditional recruitment activities.

Alongside our successful Schools Programme we are expanding to support the University’s UNIQ programme, which gives young people a taste of life as an Oxford student. The College is also trialling an Ambassador scheme in which our alumnae make contact with schools where they have personal links to encourage all students with academic potential to consider St Hilda’s as a real option for their future. These activities will maximise our reach across the UK and beyond, helping us to maintain our position as one of the most accessible and diverse colleges in Oxford.

The College feels very strongly that Access and Outreach are a crucial part of our ethos, but with that comes a financial cost. Travel to schools, recruitment materials, summer schools, open days and other activities add up to a significant investment of funds, and so donations to the Access and Outreach Fund are very warmly received. Donate now to help St Hilda’s maintain and enhance this vital work.
