The 21st annual Mystery and Crime Weekend focuses on ‘Crimes of the Past: War and Other Evils', a most appropriate theme for the Centenary Year of WW1, and provides an opportunity to examine the challenges of setting stories in the near and distant past and also the portrayal and effect of war in crime fiction.
The Weekend begins with a reception and the Conference Dinner with Colin Dexter on Friday evening. The conference (Saturday & Sunday) is divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The Conference Lecture, on Sunday Morning, is given by the Guest of Honour, Peter Robinson. Lunch is offered on both days and there is a second Dinner with speaker Keith Miles on Saturday.
Other speakers during the weekend include Alan Bradley, Frances Brody, Ruth Dudley Edwards, Martin Edwards, Jake Kerridge, Val McDermid, Anne Perry, Imogen Robertson and Andrew Taylor.
